Following the Personal Data Protection
Act in Japan (enforced as of April 2005), the
Society of Rheology, Japan (SRJ) has settled the
following Privacy Policy for its members under
recognition of the importance of personal data
of the members.
|
| 1. Collection of the personal data
of the members. |
| |
SRJ collects the personal data of
its members within the necessity for performing
its activity as a scientific society. This collection
is made, in principle, with a clear indication of
the purpose of the collection/usage of the data
and with an approval of individual members.
|
| 2. Usage and proffer of the personal
data of the members. |
| |
SRJ utilizes the personal data of its members
only for performing its activity as a scientific
society. SRJ never indicates/proffers the data to
a third person/party unless individual members agree
with it, except under unavoidable situations: SRJ
may indicate/proffer the data to a third person/party
when (1) SRJ is forced by the Japanese law/act,
(2) individual members give an approval for it,
and/or (3) a part of the data is consigned to an
agent who is officially entrusted by SRJ with a
part of the action of SRJ (such as shipment of the
SRJ journal). |
| 3. Care for the personal data of the
members. |
| |
SRJ properly takes charge of the personal data
of the members to protect the data from illegal/undesired
actions such as illegal access, theft, loss, destruction,
falsifying change, and omission. If these illegal
actions occur (with a rare possibility, though),
SRJ does its best to recover the original data and
makes a counterplot for preventing recurrence of
the illegal actions. Furthermore, SRJ strictly supervises
an agent who is officially entrusted by SRJ with
a part of the action of SRJ.
The personal data of the members that have been
published by the members themselves are out of the
care by SRJ. However, even for such published data,
SRJ never makes indication/proffer to a third person/party
except for the cases specified in the terms (1)-(3)
in section 2 of this policy. |
| 4. Indication and correction of the
personal data of the members. |
| |
SRJ indicates, in principle, the personal data
of a member without any delay when the member requests
the indication of his/her data. SRJ responds to
a member without any delay when the member offers
a correction of his/her data and/or forbids the
usage of the data. |
| 5. Indication and correction of the
personal data of the members. |
| |
SRJ may revise this policy according to a change
in the Japanese law/act and/or other official changes
in Japan. This revision is published, without any
delay, in the SRJ home page in the electronic web.
|
This policy is enforced as of
August 31, 2006.
