MEETINGS AND EVENTS |

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF
SRJ is held for 2 days in every May. About
20 posters and 15 talks are presented in addition to SRJ
award lectures. The meeting in 2006 was held in Tokyo.

THE RHEOLOGY SYMPOSIUM
(fall meeting), held for 3 days in every
October or November, is the largest, regular meeting on
rheology in Japan. The symposium attracts more than 250
participants, and presentations are given for more than
150 papers and a few special Lectures. The meeting in
2006 will be held in Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan
in the period of Oct.4-6. |
THE RHEOLOGY COURSE,
held for 2 days in every November or December, is an introductory
course in rheology for materials engineers. The course,
covering rheology in general, is highly appreciated for
educating newcomers in industries, and about 100 participants
attend the course every year. |
THE COURSE FOR FOOD RHEOLOGY,
held for 2 days in every December for a limited number
of participants (30 at the maximum), is a comprehensive
course for foods and natural products. The course, offering
several lectures combined with actual rheological measurements
on site, is highly appreciated for improving the use of
rheological measurements as a tool in food industry.

THE COURSE FOR SUSPENSIONS,
held for 1 day in every June, is a comprehensive course
for suspensions/emulsions. The course is highly appreciated
for improving the use of rheological measurements as a
tool in industries related to paints, cosmetics, flow
designing, etc. |
THE RHEOLOGY WORKSHOP,
held occasionally according to requests from the SRJ members,
is an introductory workshop for a specific subject like
computer-aided engineering. |
| INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES
have been occasionally organized by SRJ. The meetings
include the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Kyoto Symposia on Rheology
(1884, 1988, 1996, and 2002) and the 1st Pacific Conference
on Rheology (PCR). The 5th Pacific Rim Conference on Rheology
(PRCR; previously RCR) will be organized by SRJ in 2010.
